WEEKLY SHARE REPORT.

Messrs Benjamin, Kelly and Potts write as follows in their circular of 19th inst,:-

During the past week, some small invest- ment purchases have taken place hit the mar ket generally has continued inactive, Lang kats have suffered a severe decline, owing to the meagre dividend declared, while in Cantona and Fornham, an improvement on the pre. vious quotations has to be nated.

Banks-Hongkong and Shanghai Banks have been negotiated during the week at $795, London still quater 680 closing steady. Nationals are unchanged at $17.

Marine Insurance.-Cantonshave further im proved and can be placed at $3to. China →Traders have advanced to $60 and have been fixed at the rate. Other stocks under this head are unaltered at the quotations,

Fire Insurance. - China Fires have been sold and are inquired for at $85. Hongkong`Fires have been done and are steady at $300.

Shipping. Hongkong, Canton and Macao Steamboats have changed hands at $27. Inda Chinas have ruled steady and a fair business has been transacted at $ras, China and Man | ilas are in request al 521) and Douglas Steam. ships have been done at 535. Star Ferries are obtainable at $35 for the old and Saß for the Now shares. Shell Transports are in demand at 13. Shanghai Tugs have been placed at Thu, 57j and- Tlu, şi for the ordinary shares and close in request as the higher rate; the preference shares are reported sold at Tis, 48). Taku Tugs have been dealt in at Tis: zB and Th. 28 at which latter rate more shores are wanted.

Refineries-China Sugars have weakened to $213 and Luzon are in demand at the advanced rate of $30. Perak Sugars have been disposed of at TIs. 65.

Mining-Chinese Engineerings are offering at Tis. 73. Reubs are in the market 'at $37.
