HOTEL KEE ERS' RESPONSIBILI‹IES,

To Tik Epiter of the "Hongkong Pålegraph."

DEAR SIR-We notice in your issue of last night a letter under this heading signed by a Mr. Adolphe Kellmann, in which he seeks to fix the responsibilities for the tass of some af his linen owing to the washerman to whom they were sent having sold or pawned the clothes and run away with the proceeds, and adds that we refused to be responsible for his loss or for the ac s of our boys.

Now, Mr. Editor, the facts of the case are that we do not undertake the washing of linens for our guests, and they ar ange themselves for this with the room, boys. In this case, as is well known, the loss of Mr. Kellmann's clothes was not caused by any neglect or default on the part of our servants, but by the dishonesty of the washerman employed, and such being the case, we did not feel called upon to make good the loss sustained by Mr. Kellmann. Had it been occasioned by our servants, we would not have any hesitation in recouping bin of it, -Yours faithfully,
