Wuchow, October 12th. The authorities at Tang Yuen, about forty miles from this city, received information on the night of the loth inst. that a rebel bad arrived in the town and was spreading sedition among the inhabitants. Steps were imme- diately taken to secure his arrest, and with this object the officials despatched a number of soldiers to the district in which he had been

A desperate fight ensued, in which one of the soldiers was killed, but the others rushed in upon the rebel and effected his arrest. He was then brought down to Wuchow and arrived here this morning. After a formal examination he was sentenced to be beheaded, and the execu tion took place the same afternoon.
