From 1st January, 1904.
signals which comes into force at Hongkong on New Year's Day. They are the same as thon at present in use at Shanghai, and will be hoisted on the mast beside the time-ball a Kowloon Point for the information of masters of resels leaving the part. They do not neces sarily imply that bad weather is expected. The signals are as follows:-

The signals are repeated on the flagstaff of the Endown Company at Kowloon, and also, by day only, at the Harbour Office and on M's Receiving Ship.
LOCAL STORM-WARNINGS.
The Colony itself is warned of approaching typhoons by means of the Typhoon Gun placed at the food of the mast, which is fired whenever a strong gale of wind is expected to blow here.
