We have received from the Hongkong Observatory a new code of meteorological signals which comes into force at Hongkong Beel sirloin & prima cut-Mei Lung Pa

on New Year's Day. They are the same as those at present in use at Shanghai, and will. be hoisted on the mast beside the time-ball a Kowloon Point for the information of masters of vessels leaving the port. They do not asces, sarily imply that bad weather is expected. The signals are as follows:-

A cone point upwards indicates a typhoon to the North of the Colony.

A cone point upwards fand drum below in- dicates a typhoon to the North-East of the Colony,
