THE LANGRat EXPLOITATION | 10 weak that I could scarcely crawl about.

CO., LIMITED.

Doctors told me f``wax anæmic. A chemist suggested that I should try Dr. Williams' pink

that I acted upon the suggestion. I had only taken a few of the pills when I found that my appetite was returning, I ate my food and enjoyed it, and felt no ill-effects after it.”

"Could you sleep better?" the reporter asked.

"Oh, yes. Not only did I sleep soundly, but I woke up in the morning without any signs of neuralgia or indigestion. At the end of the second bottle I felt as well as ever I had done in my life. I would not be without Dr. Williams' pink pills now on any account."

The first annual meeting of the Maatschappij pills for pale people. I am very pleased now tot Mijn-Bosch-en-Land-bouw-Exploitatio in Langkat, Ld., shareholders, was held on 31st † ult., at Shanghai, Mr. John Prentice presiding. Before the business part of the meeting began, it was proposed, seconded, and unanimously carried, on the suggestion of the Chairman, that a vote of condolence be accorded to the widow and family of the late George McBain, and to the widow and family of the late R. M. Camp bell To the late Mr. McBain, said the Chair man, was due the entire success of this company It was he who originate 1 it, he who fostered it, and he who so largely pledged his credit on its behalf. Of it Mr. McBain used to say: "Hold on to it! We've good things." When he died the company was in a good and prosperous condition, entirely due to his efforts. Mr. Campbell was also a strong supporter of the company, tending it through its difficult days.

Proposing the adoption of the report, and accounts, the chairman said he had little to say that wasn't in the report itself. He felt inclined to do as their old friend Mr. McBain I used to do, and begin with et cetera, et cetera, This was the first annual meeting of the new

The work ing account showed a surplus of Tls. 1,053,359.03 with a balance on profit and loss account of Tls. 27,187.13, after providing for Tls. 870,235 amount of five interim dividends, equal to Tis. 35 per share; Tls, 552,000 to capital; Tis. 164,771 to reserve; and Tis. 110,000 written off. There was also a profit on a thousand shares odd of Tls. 167,898.ag, which went to reserve. The supply of crude petroleum continued satis factory up to the present, and a letter just receiv ed, dated the 14th March, said everything was going on satisfactorily. The shareholders had been changing rapidly. Since December 1902 those who had held on had received in dividends Tls, 1,120,235, when the capital was only at Tls. 200,000, which was surely satisfactory. Many of the present shareholders had not struggled through the early trying times of the company, but had come in recently to reap the bencfit. So far as they could see the profits of the Company were well assured for the future.

Pitman's is obsolete: and as different as the CANDLE bumed by Pitman, and the ELECTRIC light as used by the "up-to-date system." Sir Isaac Pitman told) me at our last interview that our method as to certain strokes "was a clover inception," and I volunteered that so long as he lived I would not introduce the new system to the public. I kept my word. It is the remaining partners that are so anxious to retain the Pitman Institute, and not one of whom, I am certain, know a lesson in the one I am so successfully introduc- ing throughout the world.
