We have received from the Bong Observatory a new code of meteorological signals which comes into force at Hongkong, on New Year's Day. They are the same as those at present in use at Shanghai, and will be hoisted on the mast beside the time-ball a Kowloon Point for the information of masters of vessels leaving the port. They do not neces-
sarily imply that bad weather is expected. The
signals are as follows:-
A coge point upwards indicates a typhoon to the North of the Colony.
