It is stated that the President of the United States of Columbia has issued a strong appeal to the Latin-American Re- public to support a war with the object of retaking Panama.

The United States have decided to place a warship at the disposal of General Reyes on his arrival at Panama, and in order to prevent unpleasantness a war-ship will also be assigned to the Panama Government if it * desires to confer with General Reyes.

Mr. Francisco Tse Yat of Messrs. Wing Kee & Co. has been invited to fill this vacancy, and this requires the confirmation of the share- .holders at this meeting.
