SAYS the Simla News of july 2nd-No other Company will oust the popular P. and O. from their mail contract. A much higher rate of seed will be the leading feature of the new contract, and the Company are evidently of this opinion, for four new steamers are building, ranging frem 19,030 to 10 500 tons, and from 1420 10 15,00ɔ horse-power. This will give the Company to large steamers able to land the mails in Bombay within 12 days of London. Every one with a sense of the benefits which accrue from the contract remaining with the 1. &. U. wishes that the Company will secure the contract and go on and prosper.
