THE WEATHER.
The following report is from Mr. F. G. Figs, Acting Director of the Hongkong Obser vatory:~~
On the 23rd at 12.5 p.m. The depression in the North is probably moving slowly East wards over the N. part of the Sea of Japan.
The barometer has risen slightly over the E. coast. of China, fallen a little over the Philip. pines.
Pressure is now in defect over the latter district, probably owing to the existence of a low area in the Pacific t
the Eastward of the islands.
Gradients slight with light variable winds in the Formosa Channel and N. part of the
China Sea.
Forecast:-SE. to E. winds, light; showery,
