On the 6th at 11.55 am. The barometer has fallen rapidly over NE. Japan, owing to the depression, which is passing to the Pacific to the E. of N. Japan.
Pressure has increased over W. Japan and decreased again over China, probably owing to ihe existence of another depression în N. China, Gradients slight for SE, and S. winds in the Formosa Channel and N. part of the China Sea. Forecast:-moderate SE, winds ; showery.

Meteorological signals are hoisted on the
mast beside the Time-ball at Kowloon Point for the information of masters of vessels leaving the port. They do not imply that bad weather is expected here -
A DRUM indicates a typhoon to the East, ward of the Colony, (¿e, in the East
quadrant, N.E, to S.E.)
A BALL indicates a typhoon to the West- ward of the Colony, (ie, in the West
quadrant, S.W. to N.W.)
A CONE Point Upwards indicates a typhoon to the Northward of the Colony, (fe, în the North quadrant, N.W. to N.E.)
A CONE Point Downwards indicates a ty-
phoon to the Southward of the Colony
(ie, in the South quadrant, 5.E. 10 5.W).
Red Signals indicate that the centre is believ-
ed to be more than 300 miles away from
the Colony.
Black Signals indicate that the centre is be
lieved to be less than 300 miles away
from the Colony.
NIGHT SIGNALS.
Two lanterns hoisted vertically indicate bad weather in the Colony and that the wind
is expected to veer.
