The "Times" on the Government. AT THE THE AIRE.
"ARE YOU A MASON?"
Scarcely a vacant seat was to be found in the Theatre Royal last evening when the Braugh Comedy Company brought their Hongkong season to a close with a repetition of Are you a Muren?" At the conclusion of the play, and in response to repeated calls from the house, Mr. Brough, with whom was' Mrs. Prough, alter-
wards came "before the curtain." Mr. Brough cordially thanked the audience for their presence, and thanked the public of Hongkong for the patronage which they had extended to him and his Company during their stay. On behalf of his wife and himself-he wished to state that their visits to Hongkong were always looked forward to with pleasure by them, and the warmth of their reception was an ex- pression of the fact, he thought, that their visits were appreciated (Applause). There was one thing to which he would like to refer, and that was that. when they returned

According to the Shanghai Times, a number of Boxer teachers, survivors of 1900, have been gathering proselytes and adherents ever since the end of the last year. Both at the time of its being signed and since the treaty was made between the allied Powers, and China after the relief of Pekin, I have pointed out the impossibility of enforcing the provision prohibiting the importation of foreign manufactured arms and ammunition into China. It is well known that during the past two years war material of French, Belgian and German manufaciore has been sent to that country; and I now learn that three shipments of similar material are to take place from foreign ports this month or March. A very uneasy feeling on the subject is, indeed, asserting itself in official quarter.
