Just before tiffin hour to-day, Mr. Hughes, of Messrs. Hughes and Hough, put up for sale by auction, opposite the City Hall, several houses and ponies. Brilliant, the winner of the Hongkong Derby and Garrison Cup, was first, but the owner, Colonel Hughes, bought her in at $675. Duke, a donkey marked China pony, was knocked down in Mr. Kwan for $90, and the same gentleman, bought Nga, a Burma gelding. for $0. another China pony lately imported from Shanghai.for $tro, and Moke, a China gelding, for $45. Chce $18, second in the Hongkong Derby, winner of the Flyaway Stakes, and winner of the Grand Stand Stakes, fetched $525 itam Mr. Rumjhn. Dis gust, winner of the "Visitor's" Cup, and third in the Exchange Halt, was bought in at $225. Mr. Sharp se ured a Canadian gelding for $370, and Ludy Lena, winner of the Chee Sai Cup, and second in the Maiden Stakes, was bought in at $275. Ldy Mary, Waler mire, was bo bt in at $695, and Dod, also a Waler mare, at $375. Mirabel, a Waler inure, fetched 5400 from Mr. Potts, and Mr. Kitchener secured a brown mare for $485.
