CHINAMAN STABBED.
A lamentable Tracas attended by a very serious result occurred at Miller Road last night says, the Shanghai Mercury of 1ith last. it appears that three German soldiers, who where the worse for liquor, went into a Chinese house where some religious service was going on and behaved in a manner that the inmates resented, when one of the soldiers drew a knife
and stabbed a Chinaman in the stomach and on the head. The soldiers were arrested by the Police after a prolonged struggle; they re- sisted most violently, in fact behaved more like savagés than civilized men. Two other German soldiers tried to rescue their com-
