STA LILLIPUTIANS... A large audience was again favoured with excellent entertainment at the City Hall Tast night, Follard's Opera Company placing "The Lady Slavey" on the stage for the first-time this season. The success of their previous por formances has been so marked that all present Tooked forward to a pleasant evening without any fear of the reverse being the case, and it is safe to say that the best hopes were realized and that there was nobody who left the theatre with a façhing of regret at having put in an appearance. It is an amusing piece. Miss Agnes Tumer is to the front with her song "If I hadn't have been so shy" given by her in catching style. The little wonder (species Pollardo), was loudly applauded for a song a la “Lucky Jim" of The Belle of New York" fame. This time he sings "The tears rolled down his cheek,” He also gives a parody on "Sally in our Alley” aid is very amusing and entertaining, Miss Minnie Topping and Master Harold Hill are prominent, with, a dance and the farmer was the recipient of a handsome bouquet last night. The piece is creditably performed all, through by all.

A CHINAMAN named Hong Chang was arrested on the 13th Inst whilst attempting to pawn a coffee pot at Bangkok. On being searched at the Bangkok station, the number 244 in metal was found on him. The man admitted having formerly been a constable in the Hongkong police force, but had been in Bangkok about month. Dr. Knocker identified the property as [having been stolea from his house and the ac2 used was taken for tral to the Borispah Court, THIS MORNING, says a recent issue of the Pin- ang Gazette, whilst a Bengali was leading a cow-buffalo, with a calves, along Light Street, Mr. Bell, the 3rd magistrate, happened to him, one of the calves followed him into the wheel past them on his bicycle Unknown to the Proclamation is not made by the Privypolice court compound, while the mother withi Council alone. A matinee was given this afternoon and the same piece is to be repented to-night and ́on; Monday night. "The Geisha" is "put on the stage again on Tuesday and Wednesday next, which will probably be the Company's last appearance here this season before their depar ture for Manila. After an absence of some time, Hongkong will most likely again be favoured with a visit from this popular com- pany of diminutive performen.

THE CIRCUS.

Harmaton's Gircus still continues to attract large audiences' nightly and last night was no exception to the rule. The performance passed. off without a hitch and the different items on the long programme received well deserved applause. We would remind our readers that the Jansens make their first appearance to- night and that the Frezagondas are still on the programme.

SPORTING GOSSIP,

THE COMING RACES.

Entries for the coming race meeting closed at five o'clock to-day, so we may soon, expect to see the list of entries given out. The death of Her Majesty the Queen wil cast a gloom over the "meeting, which would have been abandoned due of respect to her memory, but, unfortunately a race meeting cannot be abandoned without a great loss of money to those concerned and hence our annual meeting must take place,
