This could not be allowed and he and his followers were told to state their grievances in writing and disperse..

It will be observed that the Furniture and Fittings stand at $91.09-a very low figure the present value being considerably over $2,000 Under the circumstances the General Managers have not thought it necessary to provide for any depreciation in this direction.

Under instructions from the Right Hon'ble the Secretary of State for the Colonies, the Of ficer Administering, the Government has been pleased to accept an offer made by mite than one hundred and sixty persons (through Mr. Arnot Reid, Editor of the Straits Times) to fornita Volunteer Rifle Corps for Singapore.
August 9th, Captain Reddie and Mr. Barraut with police and a mountain gun left Sandakan for Ranau vis Tungood. On the 21st, the first attack was made on Ranau Fort It was en- successful, and on September 6th, Captain Reddio proceeded to Singapore to obtain mes and ammunition:
On November 13th, Ambong was attacked by men from Mat Salleh. The Residency was burat but the attack was otherwise unsuccessful...
