London, February 19th. The fours from Colesberg captured a large convoy on the 7th inst.

News from the Riet River states that after tremendous shelling during which yur loss was slight, Lord Roberts sent a conciliatory proclamation to the Free Staters saying that Great Britain-bears no ill-will and is anxious to preserve them from the evils due to the wrongid action of their Government. The proclamation. concludes by warning Burghers to desist from further hostility.
