The second half-battalion under command of Major Bueller, left an hour later for South ampton for the transportistare. The brigade division of field artillery for the 7th Division was inspected this morning by Lieutenant-General Montgomery Moore, gen- eral officer commanding at Aldershot. They were commanded bỡLikmenant-Colonel Flint, and consisted of the 82nd, 83rd, and 8ith
Batteries.
The mounted band of the Royal Horse Artillery was present and played-seles tions during the inspection.
The total of the troops departing to-day from Aldershot thus includes four battalions of infantry, with the 14th Brigade Staff. These troops will embark on the Assaye, Goorkha, and Braemar Castle at Southampton in the course of the afternoon. Between them these ships are estimated to carry 4,614 rffirers and men. Major General Prior and the staff crabark with the Lincolnshire Regiment in the Goorkha- P. AT. Garette.
DISORDERS IN NEW GUINEA.
The Cologne Gasatte of December 28th states there is bad news for the British from New Guinea. A feud has broken out ataong the tribes. Seven villages have been burned and the lives of the missionaries are endangered. There are fears that the disorder will spread to German territory.
