It is officially announced that the Govern- ment will raise a Mounted Infantry force for South Africa to be named the "Imperial Yeomanry," The force will consist of, 120 Companies. Infantry Volunteers will supply one Company of 114 men for each line battalion in South Africa, these Companies generally replacing Mounted Infantry taken from the line battalions.

The obstructed area will be bounded on the west by a line drawn from the most northern point of the Island to the Watering Pier at Lycheekcok, and on the cast by a line drawn from the Government Fier, on the North Shore near the Magazines, in a N.N.E. direction to the Mainland.

Vessels and junks are prohibited from anchoring in the obstructed area.

For purposes of navigation the sunken obstructions may be considered as reducing the depths of water shown on the chart by
