Gove and. Jackson, Ste Sammic, who was almost at the tail of the field, wards in Charge of Telegraph and Numbers grandly responded to the call of his jockey Messrs. J. Liddell and Pond, Stewards in and, taking the rail, challenged the leader. A Charge of Pari-Mutuel-Mr. B. A Clarke and fine race ensued between Impact, Rose de Count von Butler Starters Mestra, EH France, Sammie, and Thistle fill the Grand Gore-Booth and Ashley, Timekeeper-M. A. Stand was reached, when Impect forged ahead. E Jones, Clark of the Course; tr. E. Hand won by two lengths from Sammie, who Time, 4mins. Gore-Booth. Secretary:-Me, W, F. Wingrove was length ahead of Thistle.

The maces were again favoured with splendid weather to-day and although the sun shone. brightly the air was a little chilly, which, how ever, did not damp the enthusiasm of the spectators. The siand was graced by the presence of a good many ladies who displayed many smart frocks. The natives congregated: in greater numbers and their yellings were louder than ever, The wins were very popular throughout the day and pretty evenly divided. The course, was still sticky but the time was better than yesterday. The winner of the Champion was received at the paddock with deafening cheers,

At Probst's Corner, Bricfless took the lead followed by Elk and Callisto. Reaching the Monument, Brief- less still lead, with White Rose second, and Callisto and Tocsin together. Turning the Bend, White Rose was first, with Briefless and Callisto following. In the run home, Standard Rose rushed into prominence and a good race ensued, resulting in Callisto winning by one. length from Standard Rose, one neck separat ing the latter from his stable companion, White Rose. Time, I min. 55 4/5 secs.

Mr. A. W., Budkill After two false starts the field was sent away well, with Woudlark first, Cilthiw and Rarity following. At the Gate Gilrhiw had assumed the lead, with Rarity and Woodlark in second and third places, and the rest in at procession. Woodlark soon gave way to Apostrophe, Next the Probst Corner Luck steadily decreased the distance between himself and the leniter, and by the time the Monument was reached he had taken second place. In the run home he collared Cili, and although the latter gamely tried to pass him the attempt was not successful. The Dancer, which was in the cluster, rushed to third position near the old flelle Vue. Two lengths separated the first

Doubling the Corner Ationis came up and an exciting race ensue. succeeded in catching the Judge's eyes first, with Shut-El-Arab half-a-length behind. At the gate, Laureate had rushed to first place, with Brisk second, and Luck third. At the Probst's Corner Laureate was still ahead, with TT a and Brisk together.

From this point fill the Monument the three first ponies were racing almost neck. and-neck. The Dealer was then seen coming up beautifully, and up the Straight he had the race in hand. He was never passed and came in two lengths ahead of TT2, who was one, length in front of Luck. Time, zmins. 55secs. Pari-mutuel. Totalisator.

Shannon passed him, Fassing the Stand Shannon was still leading, followed by Thistle, Zolotai, and Scotsman in the order named. At the Longfei Gate no change took place, Dot then overhauled Thistle and Zolotoi. When near Probst's Corner The Broker was seen coming up and soon assumed second position, Shannon increased his lead, and at the Band he had the race in hand. Florist, which was behind, made a bold attempt at the home stretch to overhaul Shannon and The Broker, but only succeeded in passing the latter. Shannon won by three lengths, Florist came in many lengths ahead of The Broker. Time, 3man. 28 3/590CB.

At the Loongfet Gate Starlight passed Hupe and Canopus took third place, At tho Probst's Corner Starlight lead with Blaubart second, and Rio Grande third. At the honit stretch the Roses were seen to forge ahead and White Rose responding to the call came in an easy winner by three lengths with Tea Rose second, and Rio Grande third. Damaskus jumped into the lead close- ly pursued by Shannon and Yangtze, but the last named soon gave way to Callisto and in this order they passed the Loongfei Gate. At the run to the Probat's Corner Shannon passed Damaskus and was soon several lengths ahead." Ariel was third. Nearing the Monument Da maskus crept up to Shannon, but at the Bond Shannon was still leading woll, Loyalty in the third place. The race laid between those three and a fine tussel it was but Damaskus proved his superiority in speed by winning by four lengths, only a short head separating Loyalty from Shannon,
