Nearly a couple of years ago we took the trouble to point out to the Authorities the utter inadequacy of the appliances for ex- tinguishing au outbreak of fire on the Kowloon Península. We called attention to the fact that good roads existed and that all the buildings could be reached by an engine drawn by horses and suggested that a properly equipped engine should be stationed on the Peninsula and horses provided for it.
