Mr. Pollock said he wished to make a few remarks with regard to the work of the Navy League, We have been fortunate enough to accomplish some good work in the past; we must not live on the memories of the past, but press on. We must strengthen the hands of our Navy at home and secure by all possible means that our fleet in these waters shall be adeqimte to protect the commercial interests which we have in the Far East. The fact that we have two Naval Stations to defend, Wei-fini-woi and Hongkong, makes it more necessary to press the question. At this moment we are fortunate enough to have three battleships; unless the league takes action you will see one or two of these ships going. home again.
