RESUMPTION OF THE ENQUIRY. Comdr. Haslegs, RN,, to-day resumed the enquiry louching the death of Mr. Hatay Cook, Manager of the New Club
Mr. Frank Browar, Government Analyst, deposed, that on March 10th he seesived from Dr. Lowson, a sumich and its contents; ibey had a strong odour of chloral. He separated it ge of chloral and also a cesinous sustance which he found to be benzsin. On March 11th he received a number of erbible from Sergeant Gidley, Batile No 13 contained a liquid taken from the spittoon in decessed's bedroom. It meatbred y ca. and contained 481 grains of chlo❘ zal and alio some brandy. It appeared to be volt, Bottle No 5 contslaed sincture of benxola. Another bottle contained Iquid In which chloral-mixed with water was present He had examined the other bottles and tomblers bat found nothing else.

Dr. Lowson, Medical Officer in charge of the Public Mortuary, said that on March 10th he examined the body of deconsed. He found the stomach considerably lamed, especially at the cardiac end.
