The returns ap to yesterday morning show 10,943 CIC) and 9,299 deaths, the work's mor- iality from all cause being 1,007. The Plague returns for the whole of Bombay Presidency to second instant show 21,668 caam and 18361 deaths.
BOMBAY, April 7th.
All the available troops were drawn up in readiness at the Muhammandan quarter of the town this morning as the Plague Committee ex- pected serious opposition on their Inspection rounds. All, however, passed off qu'etly.

Following the strike of 500 cars drivers, all deck coolles (about 8,000) struck work this morning, the reason being objection to segregation and removal of their people to the hospital. They also complain that during thele absence fram home, houses are entered by the Municipal employés, especially low-carte natives, and things are destroyed. Inspector Brewfo Inter- viewed the Maccodums and told them that whe- ther they returned to work or not, the inspection would go on; hat the low-caite men entering houses could be remedied. The Maccadams see the men this evening. The whole work at the Docks Is practically stopped. Four ships timed to go to-day are unlikely to get off,
April 8th. The dock strikers have resumed work.
