In the Reichstag, the Foreign Minister, replying to a question, said that the country accepted the responsibility of the Emperor's telegram to President Kruger,

Mr. Chamberlain in a despatch to Sir Hercules Robinson fully endorses the grievances of the Ultlanders and suggests to President Kroger that he should estábilih a schéma, of local autonomy for the Rard, with power lo legislate on local querilans, including taxes and the payment of tribute to the Executive.

LAST Saturday evening, the Amateur Dramatic Club gave a very successful performance of Gilbert and Sullivan's operetta "Trial by Jury and Gilbert's musical one-act fairy tale "Creatures of Impulsa" before a large and very enthusiastic audience.
