A SMART capture by the Yazmati Pollen has to he chronicled. Yesterday morning the steward of the receiving ship Victor Emanusă reported
that he had been robbed of firs $20 bank notes during his absence. From Inquiries made suspicion fell on a "boy" who had been- employed on the ship and discharged, and who was noticed going over the ship's side daring the forenoon. As an old employes he had the run of the ship. The police looked for him and by evening had him in custody. On being searched three of the five missing notes, and some silver was found, this being the
balance left from bis "1ft." The thief mus bave known the money was there, as he had prized off the lock and tällen the notes, but did not search below a jacket, under which was more money in gilver." He was brought before the Police Magistrate this morning and on this evidence sentenced to six month's imprisonment.
