A letter received to-day from Chung-king On 5th of 5th moon (28th May) the mob began to attack the Canadian Protestant Mission. The Mission was icated and barat to the ground. The English Consul wired to the Viceroy (Liu Ping-chang) asking him to protect the fareign property. The Viceroy replied by wire that he could do nothing. The next days, 29th and 30th, the American Mission was attacked. Tas Chentai (General) was present with his soldiers. He had been told that the China Inland Mission was surrounded, and he consequently proceeded to the place with his tre sps, and then the mob attacked and destroyed the American Mission. I do not know say pericular about the destruction of the French Missions, but if they are destroyed the loss must
