This paper was carried on during that inter- regnum by our present Sub-Editor under very great difficulties and without any regular staff, he himself suffering seriously in health during the greater portion of the time, and he deserves grent credit for having done so well, and full forgiveness for any little alip he may have made. We are much in the same position still, without an adequate staff, and it le not an easy matter to get reporters fairly fit for their work at an hour's or even a month's notice.
