TORPEDOES IN THE CANTON RIVER.

TOTICE has been received from His Nori

Excellency the VICEROY that TORPE DOES have been LAID in the CANTON RIVER, and that the Buoys marking these will be REMOVED in a day or two.

In-coming Vessels will be required TO STOP at CHUEN" PEE and out-going Vessels at the COLLINSON REACH BRIDGE or WHAM FOA for EXAMINATAON by Men-of-war Stationed at these places and also to obtain PILOTS.

The Pliots are acquainted with torpedo posl tions and are provided with CERTIFICATES, but if in spite of the presence of the Pilot on board any accident should happen to a Vessel, the Government of China WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE.
