The British steamship Chowfa reports that she left Koh-i-chang on the 24th ultimo ; arrived at Swatow on the 30th, and had mode- rate southerly winds and fige weather during the Passage
The British steamship Thales reports that she left Taiwanfoo on the sóth ultimo, From Tal- wanlos to Amoy experienced strong north-west to north-nesib-east winde and cloudy weather, with considerable sea. Left Amoy on the 37th for Swatow, and had threatening weather. Anchored Amoy outer barbour, and throughout the night had a fresh breeze accompanied with heavy squalle. At 4 am welghed sochor and pro- ceeded to Swatow, and had moderate variable winds and considerable swell from the south- west, the lowest reading being 29,58. From Swatow to port had strong south-west winds with considerable sea and fine weülber.
