This is an excellent remedy not only for cholera morbus, but for sudden attacks of diarrhoea, cramps in the bowels, or similar complaints. The medical formula la :—--

Part. equal, fi mit. In plain English this means that you are to mix equal parts of the tinctures of apium, red pepper, peppermint, rhubarb and camphor. The dose is from three to five drops for a child, and from ten to fifteen for an adult, and in bd cases this may be repeated once or twice at Intervals of from fifteen minutes to half an hour, The Hongkong Telegraph published this prescription several years ago, when 136 cholera and choleraic diarrhoea were prevalent in the surrounding districts, and we had the gratification of receiving numerous letters from those who had used it in Hongkong, Macao and Canton, testifying to its excellent effects. It is a simple and cheap remedy for a most dangerous disease, and if only as a measure of precaution, until the arrival of medical assistance, should be in every household.
