Recent despatches received by the local anthorities of Shanghal from Ngochou, Kaangs!, according to the M. C. Daily News, state that some four or five thousand men dader the leadership of two men called Hala and Mao have act up the standard of rebellion in the hilly track of country called Tatungshan, belonging to the district of Hualch h, which they have fortified and latend to make the basis of their operations gainst the Government. Their principal stan. dards contain different moltons such as" Peace under the Kingdom of Sincerity"- Tai Ping,-"We serist Heaves in pro riding law and order," and "We rob the rich to aid the poor," and such like. All the surround- ing countryside has been emptied of its popula tion and portable property by the insergent banda, and the high authorities at Keelllo, the capital of Kuangai, are sending three brigades of disciplined troops to the scene of operations.
