AT the Harbour Office to-day, before Capt. Ramsey, Marine Magistrate, thies seamen of the ship Habitant (Capt. Potter) were sent to

gol for seven days each for refusing daty on the

2nd and aged lust.

THE reports for 189a of the Harbour Master, the Acting Postmaster General, and the Sanitary Superintendant, together with the special raporta of the Commissions appointed to investigate the Treasury frande and the Pó Leung Kuk, were laid on the table at the meeting of the Legisla. tive Council this afternoon. IT.having been shown that the London malls can be landed in Hongkong without any pasti- cular difficulty inside twenty-four days, there seems to reason why we should tolerate the

thirty days limit longer than possibly can be helped. The Chamber of Commerce ought to actively move in this matter without delay.

In to-day's Garrison Orders It is stated that the continued rain having rendered the Happy Valley unfit for parade purposes, the "Feude jole ordered for to-morrow will be fred from the Praya.. Special orders as to forming up, etc., will be issued shortly..

The troops will be in portion at 4.45 p.m., as previously ordered." THE Report of the Commission specially appointed to investigate the Alves, frauds and theworking of the Treasury Department has been anxiously looked for, and there has been a good [39 deal of growling, throughout the colony at what was regarded as, and certainly appears to hava been, an unnecessary delay in making public the A.
