The manager of the Bank of Chlum informa us that he has received telegraphic advice from 'the Head office to the effect that the nett profit for the past year's working amounts to 15,000. and that this sum added to the Reserve allows all funds in China to be written down to 3s, and in India to 1.4 14. after providing for depreciation in investments the capital being left intact.
In answer, to a telegraphic enquiry, the Head Office further adds that there is no probably of a call being made it present, and that any such call will be only made when required for- the Bank's business.
