It is suggested that friends and acquaintancer should combine to form a gun detachment of ** men, or, a half company (or Section of Field Artillery) of 24 men, or even a complete Com pany of Battery,

The Officers of the Battery, when complete will consist of one Captain and three Lieutenants and those of each company of ons Captain and two Lieutenants. Such Officers to be elected by their own men, the Lieutenants by the half. companies or sections, the Captain by the company or battery. Such electlon to ba sub- ject to the approval of His Excellency the Governor,

The uniform of the Field Battery will semata as at present, that of the machine gun compa ales will be a matter for future consideration, a working dress only being, provided for the enguing drill season.

One month in the year (the month of March being at present proposed) will be set apart for the annual training when drilla will take place twice a day, Volunteers will also be expected to attend at least one parade monthly during the rest of the year, The minimum number of attendances and other requirements to enable a Volunteer be deemed efficient will be hera- after fixed by the Governor in Council on the recommendation of the Major-Geserxi.

Gentlemea are reminded that the proposal for obtaining a vote of the Legislative Council for funds to establish and maintain the Corps in conditional "on" the enrolment of not less than 110 Volunteers by the 1st of January instant, and the Commited hope, for the credit of the Colony, that this number will be largely exceeded. l
