Business has kept fairly briak in a few salect, stocks since we last wrote, but generally speaking not much has been done and prospects are certainly not encouraging, Hongkong Banks have materially Improved their position, a fair number of shares having been taken up at from 95 to as high as 105 per cent. premium; there are now sellers at the latter

Some sales have been reported | of Bank of China Founders' shares at £18, and there are further sellers. Panjams have been eagerly Inquired after from some quarters, but beyond a few small sales at 82.35, nothing worthy of special notice has been reported. Charbonnageshave improved considerably, offers to buy at as high as 140, falling to Induce holders to part with their shares. We expect to see this stock quoted at three
