He couldn't vouch for the deceased being quite compos-mentis. He often spoke of his female cousin who died at Amoy last year. He was very fond of her. One of the letters produced was written by his nephew and stated he had decided to end his life, and he aid attempt to commit suicide on the 1st January last, by jumping over the verandah ef witness's house. He believed deceased drank a bottle of whisky on Saturday, ·
