Co.'s office yesterday, was private, how does it happen that the Daily Press of this morning is enabled to publish not only the practical results of sald meeting, but is apparently authorised to actually give the names of the gentlemen elected to form a deputation to his Excellency the Governor? This looks very much like a direct and deliberate snub to the other local papers, for the special benefit of the contemptible toadyism which has for so long been our feeble morning contemporary's principal characteristic. But we have not the remotest Intention of allowing to go unchallenged any private meeting of unauthorised persons, who claim special rights and $1.00 privileges on grounds which are worse than ridiculous, and to arrogate exclusive
