MR. B. RUSTOMER came up before the Chief Justice for his final discharge from the Bank rupty Court this morning, but the final decision was postponed for a week to allow the Judge to again look through the evidence. Mr. Reece Master, instructed by Messrs. Toeg & Gubbay appeared on behalf of the Bankrupt, and Mr. and R. A. Gabbay, opposed the discharge. Mr. Reece in opening the case dealt with the contained no valid reason against the discharge objections put forward and argued that they of his client and asked his Lordship, if he would not grant an immediate discharge, to suspend the same for three, six, or even twelve months, which would be quitesufficient punishment for any laxity that may have been proved against Mr. Rustomjee method of book-keeping. His client certainly showed great carelessness in that respect but nothing further had been proved, and no fraudulent intention on his part had even been hinted at. If the release were suspended for a term he contended that his client must necessarily suffer inasmuch as he would not be a free agent, Mr, Master opposed the release of the applicant on the alleged grounds of excessive expende ture and reckless speculation, and contended that Mr. Rustomjee had dealt largely in share a bankrupt, and had not kept his books in the form that business men are required to do, and finally requested his Lordship to consign Ma Rustomjee to prison. After further argument by Mr. Reece, is the course of which he indulged in some rather scathing remarks upon the character of the opposition, and some too from the Chief Justice on the same subject, the case was adjourned for a week.,
