THE Negro Sembilan correspondent of the Straits Times, writing from Kwala Pila on the 6th inst., says that a number of railway pickets damaged by elephants, which keep remaining have been pulled out and the Paso bridle track about the place night after night. While on the subject, I learn that Major Hannay, and Lieut. Sutherland have arrived at Kusla Jempol, They are proceeding to Paso to-day by the new track through Palong. Lieut.
