The heirs of the famous Jennings family bave made a new move. They claim the estate of Lord Howe, but there have been hitherto several actions, all of which have been decided in favor of the latter.
Yesterday George Wills, one of the heirs, brought a crisis in this manner: He obtained permission to look over Acton Place, at Sudbury, about twenty miles west of Ipswich, which belongs to the Howe estate. When once Inside the house he absolutely refused to leave it, and declares that he will remain there until he is legally elected. September 20th.. Recently inveral of the residents have taken their departure to distant places. First to go. was Mr. J. N.. Lovatt, the genial tide surveyor, who has the honour of organising the staff in the newly opened port of thungking. His successor, whoever he may be, has not yet arrived. The Rev. J. R. Hykes has taken his family to the United States for a change and expects to be gone a year. The next one to go will be Dr. R. S. Miller, who replaced Dr. Under- wond during the latter's year of absence in England. Ever body will be sorry to lose Dr. Miller; his constant kindness and attention have won for him the respect and esteem of all who reside at the port.
