The Steamboat Co.'s shares have been negociated at 37, and at that rate the stock is fairly firm, The Douglas' Co.'s Scrip has been taken up by our Northern friends at 53, and there now buyers at a point lower.
The China Sugar Refining Co.'s shares have been unsteady and weak since we last wrote, although fairly large transactions. have been put through at 166 and; after- wards at 169 for cash, and also at 170 for August, and 173 and 175 for December. Luzons have been made the principal medium for business, leading to extensive operations both for cash and forward delivery. A very large number of shares have been placed at from 102 to, 109 for cash, but at the finish the stock weakened slightly and dropped to 106 closing with buyers at that rate,
