THE WEEK'S SHARE BUSINESS.
Hongkong, 5th July; '1890.
The demand for all stocks has been kept up and higher rates have been maintained throughout the week. Although a slight weakness was apparent at first, we are glad to say that publle confidence was, not shaken and a strong demand again set in, which has been maintained. Banks.Sales have been made at 201. and 202 for cash, and at 203 and 204 for the 25th instant; but the quotation dropped ! again to 200 for the 25th and closed, with
buyers at that figure.

Marine Insurances.Unions are inquired alter at quotation, but nothing has been done in them not in any of the other Marine stocks.
Fire Insurances-Hongkongs and Chinas are in demand at 3523 and 85 respectively, but holders are not willing to part with their scrip at these rates.
Decks. have steadily been rising and a fair amount of business has been put through at 56, 57. and 59 for cash and for On time delivery on the 25th instant.
they have been done at 61, 62 and 63 for August, and 62, 63, 64 and 65 for September, closing with sellers at the highest rates.
Steamboats--Small sales of the Hongkong, Canton and Macao Steamboat Company's shares were made at 37 and 374 cash and 373 for August, but the stock closed weak. Nothing has been done in Indo- Chinas and the rate is still 25 per cent. dis., with sellers. There has been an inquiry for the Douglas Co.'s scrip from the North. at 54 cash. but holders are asking 55
and decline to close at a lower figure.

Mining Stock-Punjoms found buyers at from 73 to Sy cash, but closed weak at 8. Charbonnages have been done at 275, and Raubs at 2)..
The Trust and Loan Co.'s scrip has changed hands at 133, 139, and 14 cash, and is now in demand at the last mentioned rate, Founder's shares were done at £140 and £135.!!
