The British steamship Propontis reports that he left Kutchinstzu on the 7th instant at 7am. Whilst crossing the Eastern Sea had fresh north- west and northerly winds and cloudy weather with high confused sea, shipping large quantities of water fore and aft main deck; passed Tum-S about Island light on the 10th at 3.15 am Throughout the Formosa Channel had moderate north-east winds and fine but cloudy weather.

From Breaker Point to arrival had light north-east and east-north-east winds and smooth sea, with fine pleasant weather.

The British steamship Thaler reports that she left Taiwanfod on the gth instant-Amoy on the roth, and Swalow on the 11th. From Tai- wanfoo to Amoy had strong north-east gale and cloudy weather with high sea, From Amoy to Swatow bad moderate north-east breeze, with

fine clear weather. From Swatow to Hongkong had light variable winds with smooth, sea and gloomy weather. In Amoy, the steamships Chunghiang, Wuchang, Goalpara, Glucksburg, Collingham. and. Tamsui. In Swatow, the steamships Taisang, Hangchow, Chowfa, and Fidelio.
