THE latest edition of "the Flying Dutchman" in Mr. Raat, who was arrested at Singapore the other day on a charge of murdering some Chinese in Siak. Raat, after being before the magistrate, cedure in murder cases unless we eir greatly, was released on bail-a somewhat unusual pro and he has since vanished. The only evidence adduced at the police court against Rest was his own admission that he had killed the Chinese, and he pleaded justification. His hasty flight from Singapore, however, is decidedly suspicious.
