$ o'clock. Since our last report a considerable tohe amount of business has been done in same. of this leading stocks. Yesterday Books changed hands at 157 per cent, premium.. but the stock failed to maintain this rate and there are now sellers at 155. Sales have been reported in North China winds. Class, not and dry weather prevails. Insurances at 268 and 270, and at the Jatter quotation additional shares could be places. In Chiou and Manilas some large transactions have 'heen arranged at 165 and there are further buyers. Sugars continue firm at 194, no shares being available at that rate; but Luzans Hongkong Observatory, 22nd November, 1888. have again weakened slightly, shares now offering at 93 Business in the Wharf and Godown Co's scrip has been done at 64 per cent, premium for cash and Gs for the end of the year, and at both these rater shares are still wanted. Other quotations speak for themselves.

The British steamship Soochow reports that she left Pakhoi on the 19th instant, and Heibow on the 21st. Had north-east winds and fine, weather.

The British steamship Glenartney reports that she left London on the 8th ultimo, and Sin- gapore on the 15th instant. Had light winds and fine weather.

The British steamship Formosa reports that she left Tamsui on the 17th instant, Amoy on the 19th, and Swatow on the 1st. Had moderate variable north-north-west winds to port.

The British steamship Kairow reports that she left Foochow on the 20th instant. Had light north-east wind. to Breaker Point; from there had fresh wind and fine weather throughout the

passage.

The Messageries Maritimes steamship Cale donien reports that she left Marseilles on the 20th ultimo, Singapore on the 15th instant, and Salgón on the roth. Had very fine weather during all the trip,
