REPORTS.
The British bark Arcadia reports that she left Ningpo on the 16th instant. Had very light southerly and south-east winds for the first fortnight, and the latter part strong south-west monsoon with hard squalls and much rain with a high sea and a strong north-easterly current.
The German steamship Protor reports that she left Mauritius on the 17th ultimo, Had fresh south-east winds and bigh sea for three days; thence fresh southwest winds to Malacca Straits; arrived at Singapore on the 5th instant at noon, left again on the 7th at 4 pm. Had light south and moderate south-west winds with moderate sea and fine weather; across the Tonking Gulf had very high west-north-west swell,
The American ship C. C. Chapman reports that she left Shanghai on the 16th ultimo. Had light south-west winds from Shanghal to For- mosa Channel; thence light north-east winds to Lammock Island; thence had strong west-south. west winds to Chusan; thence light north-east winds to Hongkong lighthouse when it fell calm and then freshened up to the south-west, blowing strong, heavy south-west swell and strong cast-north-east current, Made the passage in 25 days from the Saddle Islands.
The British steamship Hailan reports that she left Foochow on the 12th instant, Amdy on the 13th, and Swatow on the 14th. From Foo chow to Amoy had strong southerly gales with a short nasty sea and heavy rain squalls. From Amoy to Swatow had moderate south-south-east winds and fine weather with heavy south-west swell. From Swatow to port had light south.
