The China Navigation Co.'s steamer Wooring, which left Shanghai for Newchwang with some four thousand bales of piece goods on the 24th ulto, went ashore on the Garden spit' on her way out, and had to be towed off by the steamer Folelin.Misfortunes did not end here, however, as before clearing the river she had to anchor for engine room repairs, and after passing Woosung broke down, owing to losing her propeller and the end of the propeller shalt.
The disabled steamer was towed back to Shanghai and placed in Boyd's new dock to undergo the necessary fixing up.

A man called Moosa said. he was sent yesterday by the chief clerk of the Refinery, to the godowa, to spe if the watchman was asleep, and on arriving there found him in that condition. BRITISH NORTH BORNEO.
The British barque Waller Siegfried sailed on the 26th February for Tientsin with a cargo of Borneo timber. This is the third vessel despatched by Messts. E. E., Abrahamson & Co., this year
By the steamer Pakuam' half a mile of -heavy railway was imported by Messrs E-E Abrahamson & Co. The railway is especially designed to transport heavy timber from the forests, and if found practicable will be used on A large scale with steam.cranes-and.motors.
The British Barque Solidor, from Shanghai, of 720 tons burden, William Mitchell, master, arrived here on the and March, She is consigned to, Messrs. E. E. Abrahamson & Co., and proceeds immediately across the bay to Copuan Island to load with timber. She left Shanghai on the 17th February and experinced fine weather throughout. No passengers on board.
Attention has already been attracted to the large percentage of sugar in the Borneo sugar cane, and the java planters are importing bezbit from Borneo at high prices. The sugar-cane of Sondakan has already received a favorable analytical report and this adds interest to the immense size of the canes exhibited on the Chinese New Year's day at Sandakan, which, as stated elsewhere, actually reached a height of 226
