THE Admiralty, says Trail, have struggled hard to mother the truth about the Impérieuse, but it comes out again in the ugliest shape in the report furnished by her captain 10 the Admiralty, and just made public. Says this document: "When cruising under steam she is liable to become rather wild, and with any wind requires a good deal of weather-helm, as much as two turns being needed with a fresh breeze abcam.? The captain further considers that her masts and rigging should be removed, and reports the ventilation of the dynamo-room to be seriously defective; while, what is far more serious, the broadside torpedo ports cannot be properly. worked, even with only too tons of coal on board. After this, the less said about "this formidable war-ship," " this valuable addition to the navy," &c., the better.
