4 o'clock p.m. Banks show a slight Improvement this "morning, cash buyers offering 180 per Cent, premium without securing any shares. Business to a fair amount has been-put through at 188 for January. We hear of one Union Insurance share having changed hands at 620. Hongkong Fires have been negociated at 360, and there are further buyers at the rate. A considerable busi- ness in Docks has been reported at 55 per cent, premium, the stock leaving off firm with buyers at the quotation. A few Steamboats have.changed hands at go per share premium for the end of the year. There are no other changes of consequence to report.

The British steamship Hainan reports left Hoihow on the 26th instant. Had strong N.E. winds and sea with rain. At 5.30 p.m. on the 17th. came to anchor under Concok through stress of weather. At 5.30 am. on the 18th got under weigh and proceeded towards Hongkong.

The British steamship Telemachus reports left Shanghai at 7 am on the 24th instant. "Had moderate monsoon and fine weather; arrived at Swatow at 1.30 p.m. on the 26th, and left again at 3 p.m. on the 28th. Had moderate N.E. wind and gloomy weather up to this port.
